Impact Communications partnered with the USS Midway Museum to design, fabricate, and produce their largest permanent exhibit to date, Battle of Midway: Six Minutes that Changed History.
Through the combined use of digital media and authentic exhibit fabrication, the 4,000 square foot exhibit immerses San Diego museum visitors into a story of the history-altering battle that took place in June 1942. Regarded by many as the World War II battle that turned the tide toward American victory in the Pacific Theater, the Midway story is told with a blend of interactive multimedia, interpretive graphic panels, artifacts, video and a holographic theatrical presentation.
At the exterior of the exhibit are vertical video display panels and an historical timeline. Two videos produced by Impact were honored with Telly Awards. A silver and bronze award were earned for excellence in video production in the category of History/Biography. View the videos here.
Impact Communications’ services include a wide range of production specialties that were used to produce this 4,000 square foot exhibit space. Writing and research, technical direction and project management, graphic design, video editing and animation, exhibit design, fabrication and installation, technical programming and audio/visual permanent installation were all managed by the Impact team.
The USS Midway Museum was ranked #7 in the United States by the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards in the Museum Category. It is the leading tourist destination in San Diego, attracting a broad range of visitors from around the world. The museum’s vision is to become America’s living symbol of freedom.
