Impact Communications partnered with the USS Midway Museum to design, fabricate, and produce their largest permanent exhibit to date, Battle of Midway: Six Minutes that Changed History.
Featured in the exhibit is “Order of Battle”- a video that takes guests behind the numbers – men and machines – to show the incredible odds working against the U.S. forces in this imbalanced conflict during World War II.
The video was produced in a historical documentary style using Adobe Premiere, Adobe AfterEffects and Cinema 4D. After many months of research and scriptwriting, Impact acquired historical World War II footage and photographs from the National Archives and the Naval Historical Society. Researchers tracked down veterans as well as children, grandchildren and other relatives of vets to hear first-hand stories and to acquire rare visual assets.
The video was awarded the Silver Telly Award for outstanding achievement in video production in the category of History/Biography. The Silver Telly is the highest honor and is only awarded to 7-10% of the 12,000 entries received from all over the world. View the video here.
The USS Midway Museum was ranked #7 in the United States by the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards in the Museum Category. It is the leading tourist destination in San Diego, attracting a broad range of visitors from around the world. The museum’s vision is to become America’s living symbol of freedom.
