Impact Communications was proud to partner with Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana to develop the DreamPlanSucceed app and Evansville’s Regional Business Hall of Fame Exhibit at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science. The exhibit and app were launched at the museum in April 2016 and recently the project was honored with a W3 Award for creative excellence in web and app technology.
It was Junior Achievement’s goal to showcase the laureates of Evansville’s Regional Business Hall of Fame in this interactive exhibit. To do so, Impact conducted video interviews with many of the laureates which were then incorporated into digital activities and learning opportunities within the augmented reality app.
“We are grateful for the support from the Business Hall of Fame laureates who have helped to make this exhibit possible,” said Jim Wittman, Board Chairman, Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana. “We look forward to inspiring the next generation of leaders to dream big with help from our Hall of Fame laureates.”
Impact developed scripted content, produced all videos and graphics and oversaw app development. The project goals were aimed at helping middle school and high school students to start planning for their future careers. Segments include activities that:
- explore career options,
- ask important financial questions to the community’s business leaders, and
- examine career obstacles and failures and how to overcome them.
Impact designed the permanent exhibit that is on display at the Evansville Museum. Not only does it provide the triggers that activate the augmented reality portions of the app, but it has become the virtual home of Evansville’s Regional Business Hall of Fame. Contained within the app are biographical tributes to all laureates currently in the hall of fame. Future inductees will be added to the app each year, and additional triggers and augmented reality activities will be developed.
The app (DreamPlanSucceed) may be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play.
Visitors to the museum will find triggers embedded into the hall of fame exhibit through their mobile device’s viewfinder and use of the app. The exhibit comes to life while visitors have the ability to “interact” with Business Hall of Fame laureates.
