Interactive multimedia app for museum exhibit

To educate and entertain museum guests

Mobile Website and App Development

The Project

Impact partnered with Cuyahoga Community College to create an interactive Multimedia application honoring the legacy of Carl and Louis Stokes, pioneering African-American political leaders. The app was commissioned as part of the college’s yearlong commitment to celebrating the Cleveland natives. Our aim was to provide visitors with an interactive program that allows them to immerse themselves in Cleveland political history. The app is now on permanent display at Cleveland’s Western Reserve Historical Society as part of the museum’s “Cleveland Starts Here” gallery.

Client

Cuyahoga Community College’s mission is to provide high quality, affordable education to members of the community. It was Ohio’s first public community college and remains the largest in the state.

Audience

Visitors to Cleveland’s Western Reserve Historical Society and attendees to the traveling exhibit.

Objective

Inspire interest in the legacy
of the Stokes brothers.

Our Process

Impact designed and programmed the user interface and navigation for the app. We also developed a colorful and easy-to-use landing page that houses more than 70 videos produced by the college. We also proposed and designed a component for tomorrow’s leaders to reflect on the legacy established by the Stokes Brothers. In short video interviews, young people from across northeast Ohio shared examples of how the Stokes Brothers influenced their decisions to become active participants in community affairs. In addition to the app, Impact designed a traveling version of the program for use in public venues throughout northeast Ohio.
