The Project

Impact has produced Aspen Dental Vibe sessions, the organization’s annual dental professional recruitment meeting, as a live event since 2017, but the November 2020 Vibe was unique, becoming Aspen’s first ever Virtual Vibe session. Some of the best and brightest dentists in America were recruited to join the Aspen team all from a virtual platform, without in person attendance or interaction. Impact delivered a combination live and pre-recorded event that created true audience engagement while capturing the excitement of a live session. The one-day virtual event was a resounding success, generating four times the number of attendees than live Vibe Sessions resulting in many dentists being hired.

With 800+ offices in all 50 states, Aspen Dental offices provide a wide range of general dentistry and denture-related services to their patients.

Audience

The Aspen VIBE session attendees are dentists already in private practice, dentists employed by another dental service organization, recent dental school graduates or fourth-year dental students preparing to enter the professional world.

Objective

To recruit the most talented dental professionals to join Aspen Dental as practicing dentists, managers of clinical operations or practice owners.

Our Process

Impact brought their proven track record in producing live and virtual events to Aspen Dental to create the organization’s first-time virtual event.  While some of the tasks were different, the thoroughness of the approach remained the same. Production began weeks in advance with the design of the virtual platform, the portal through which attendees would participate.  We provided video production, filming messages from Aspen’s Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Executive Officer as well as “Get to Know Aspen” videos designed to inspire and motivate the audience to consider a dental career with Aspen. On event day, Impact streamed video and also hosted three live interactive Q&A panel discussions with Aspen leadership, incorporating social media feeds through Twitter and Instagram using custom hashtags. The panel discussions took place simultaneously and allowed the attendees to choose their session. We also developed hundreds of personal schedules for each of the attendees, allowing them to maximize their participation.  Attendees could view their sessions and their scheduled interview appointments on the platform’s My Profile page. Post-event analytics detailed and delivered valuable data including number of attendees, their levels of interest in specific content as well as their on-demand viewership.

Behind the Curtain

Live streaming videos with Aspen leadership delivered key messaging to the attendees.  Opportunities for interactivity, including Q&A sessions, helped generate deeper engagement.
