Kwikset / Baldwin
Virtual Trade Show Platform

Impact delivered a trade show exploration on a virtual platform

To enable the product and vendor interaction

The Project

Impact developed and hosted a virtual trade show platform for Kwikset/Baldwin that afforded attendees countless opportunities to interact with products and explore solutions – all at a social distance. The four-day live streaming event was developed as a HiVE website – Hybrid Interactive Virtual Event. Client assets were virtually represented in 3D space to simulate a live experience for attendees. The site provided guest registration, featured 360o virtual reality touring to showcase 25 products, delivered pre-recorded videos with product experts, created clickable hot spots to let attendees take a deeper dive into the products themselves and more. The versatility of the HiVE platform can reconfigure the virtual trade show for future applications so that each virtual event has its own custom characteristics and marketable features.

Client

Baldwin and Kwikset are part of Hardware and Home Improvement (HHI), a major manufacturer and supplier of residential locksets, residential builders' hardware and faucets with a portfolio of renowned brands.

Audience

Direct consumers and vendor partners

Objective

To present the newest product offerings from Kwikset/Baldwin to attendees with the goal of generating sales opportunities.

Our Process

We began by developing and hosting a HiVE website for guest registration. This became the portal for the virtual tradeshow. We partnered with physical trade show developers to stage the products, creating an actual trade show floor. Then we shot 360o product photography, stitched the photos together and programmed a set number of clickable hot spots. When attendees accessed these spots, they were able to move around the product in 3D space, plus, generate audio and video content, photos, graphics and text, spec sheets as PDFs or links to the product websites – all featured to replicate the live trade show floor experience. Select videos were archived in repositories for easy retrieval and viewing. And – they came for the show, they stayed for the swag! It wouldn’t be a trade show without it, so Impact provided an interactive opportunity for attendees to collect exhibitors’ premiums – virtually – to receive physically at a later date. During the four day event, Impact provided live technical support, including staffing help desks to make sure that attendees were enjoying the most robust virtual trade show experience, while post-event, we provided critical data for the client to target future marketing opportunities.

Behind the Curtain

We partnered with an exhibit fabrication partner on this project, working with them to stage the products and create an actual trade show floor.  By accessing clickable hot spots, attendees were able to mover around the product in 3D space, view audio and video content, photos, graphics, text, specs sheets and links to product PDFs. Post show, we provided critical data for the client to target future marketing opportunities.
